EXTENSIONS2020 Information Day

Information Day:  Saturday 22 February 2020, 9:45am—12noon
The Embroiderers Guild NSW is proud to present EXTENSIONS2020 Information Day.

Effie, Cathy and Dianne would love to meet you and take the time to answer any queries you may have.

The aim of EXTENSIONS2020 is to extend the personal development of students and mentors. Starting where they are now, outcomes will be different for each person. Led by Effie Mitrofanis, with Cathy Jack Coupland and Dianne Magro EXTENSIONS2020 may be the chance you’ve been looking for to focus, learn and grow by studying and making embroideries through the medium of a technique which inspires your creativity and following a Course Outline. This is a unique window of opportunity to work with not one, but three highly qualified and
experienced Embroiderers, Teachers and Mentors each offering their specialised skill sets.

It is a journey, a step-by-step process, where the journey is a course with objectives and outcomes such as a traditional/historical work as well as a contemporary work. They and other objectives will culminate with a final Outcomes Review and a Certificate of Completion.

For example choose to learn how to study and create embroideries based on a style and/or aspect of a technique such as Surface Stitchery. Blackwork is a style of Surface Stitchery which has three aspects, one of which is Elizabethan Blackwork, another is geometric patterns. Mountmellick Work is a style of Surface Stitchery.
Italian linen work is a style of Whitework, Reticella is a style of Cutwork. Some other techniques are Counted and Drawn Thread Work, Patchwork, Appliqué, Machine Embroidery and more.
