This workshop offers an introduction to those who wish to try this elegant and disciplined embroidery style, as well as those who might be thinking to delve deeper into this artform. Rising Star is an ideal taste of’ project in the Su’ style of traditional Chinese Art Embroidery.

In this class, participants can expect to be introduced to:

  • Techniques as used to embroider the design including the theory and practice in application.

  • Working with filament silk to achieve best shine and aesthetic results

  • Concepts and practices to achieving beautiful silk shading in the Chinese tradition

  • The holistic approach associated with this style of embroidery. Skill Level: All levels. A liking for detailed work is advantageous.
