This is a series of workshops, initially one module of 3 months duration, which will serve as a bridge between the basic knowledge the students learn in Introduction to Embroidery and any further courses of study e.g Contemporary Stitch & Design.

The workshops can also be undertaken purely to advance and expand students’ knowledge of this technique and will cover: the different metal threads and the way they are used; various tips on handling them discovered from my own work practice; advanced padding techniques; different types of suitable frames and backgrounds; study (deconstruction) of Collection pieces.

No assessment tasks will be set.

In this module students will build upon their basic knowledge, learn about the large variety of threads available and the different ways they can be used to increase the visual quality of their embroidery.

Sharyn can be contacted via for more information or expressions of interest.
