Mary Brown

Duration 1 day
Dates Sun 7 April 2019
Fees Members $80  Non-Members $100
Fees Due By 7 March  2019
Venue  76 Queen St, Concord West

This workshop is an introduction to the visual language used by artists and designers to communicate ideas, feelings, etc. Mary will briefly cover the elements of design and will demonstrate how the principles of  design are brought into play to compose with the     elements of design.

Mary has written a comprehensive booklet with many images on the Elements and Principles of Design which you can request to be emailed to you as a PDF once you have fully paid for the workshop. It must be printed and brought to the workshop. If you are not online, Mary will print it for you at Officeworks and will bill you accordingly.

Delivery of this information will be accompanied with Powerpoint presentations. There is so much ground to cover that there will not be time in this workshop for practical work.

This workshop is open to all, but if you intend to enrol in the Contemporary Stitch & Design course, this is an excellent workshop for you to do, if you have not already formally or independently studied elements and principles of design

Mary took this photograph of Henri Matisse's 'Still Life with Geranium' 1910 at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich last.   Matisse figures very prominently when talking about the elements and principles of design.
