This two-day workshop will demonstrate Art Nouveau embroidery, particularly embroidery from the Glasgow School of Art. Designs from the likes of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, The Glasgow Girls (Jessie Newbery, Ann Mackbeth and the Macdonald sisters) will be used to inspire embroidery on a journal cover or sketch book bag.

A special feature in this workshop will be the use of needleweaving often used in pieces of this period, along with satin stitch, thorn stitch and stem stitch.

Come along and enjoy!
