Willows are a familiar sight beside our rivers, giving the illusion of welcome shade on a hot day.

In this workshop students will be encouraged to draw their very own willow tree. You will be surprised how only a few simple lines are needed to capture the essence of your subject.

The trunk is padded with Perlé cotton and then stitched with various silver threads. The fronds freefall to create the sense of leaves wafting in the breeze.

This is a great opportunity for students new to metal thread embroidery. Those with some experience are also welcome to enjoy and discover a different manner of padding and use of different threads.
