While in Turkey in 2015, Alison was fortunate to find some silver broad plate  that is still occasionally used. This project is in the style of work from the Ottoman Empire.

You will learn some of the counted thread techniques in traditional Ottoman stitches (This does not include cross stitch). Au Ver à Soie d'Alger silk thread is highlighted with the broad silver plate on a 37x15cm piece of 28 count soft (undressed) linen. Your piece, when folded, will turn into a useful small pocket book for keeping many small notions safe and sound.

This project will not be offered for long, as there is a limited amount of the broad plate!  There is no preparation to be done prior to the workshop as the workshop folio includes the prepared 28-count linen and the silver broad plate for the embroidery.

Skill level:  Intermediate to Advanced
Kit Cost:  $67 to be paid to tutor
