Past to Present, now let’s turn the tide and go Present to Past. Dianne has followed Grace Christie's methodology for planning a piece of embroidery.  Putting  your own  stamp on the design and working through the process as though  you were Grace's student, the aim is to embroider a bag taking elements from one  which is in The Guild Collection. Grace took her inspiration from a 1588 Elizabethan pillow sham.

This workshop is about planning stitches to create a design'- for example, selecting several interesting stitches and then design a flower around the stitches. The panel will consist of scrolls filled with flowers, insects and a bird with an Australian flavour but still encompassing Grace's method for design.

Having the bag in the Guild Collection is the most amazing inspiration.

Explore some really magical stitches and thread selections for this beautiful bag and just step back in time.
